Verdict
Turnberry is given one final chance here with Gabana and Son of Thunder the others shortlisted in a tricky handicap. The selection ran no sort of race at Brighton last time but he had previously been an unlucky second when caught on the line by Accendere. If his latest run can be forgiven then he looks to have a solid chance of making amends here. Gabana was only narrowly beaten last time at Salisbury and this filly has shown a good level of consistency so looks to have decent claims of again making the frame. Son of Thunder loves the fast ground and is from a yard in form, so he could go well if the rain stays away. Of the remainder, Three Welshmen is a course and distance winner so is worth a second look in the market, but Turnberry looks the pick here and is given the nomination.
