In depth
Verdict
Edmo Yewkay ended a long losing sequence when successful at Doncaster last month and Tim Easterby's gelding gets the vote to follow up despite having to race off an 8lb higher mark today as he remains on a fair mark and he is preferred to Misty Dancer and Magic Sky. The last mentioned has not won for some time but is slipping back to a fair mark now so has to be considered. The one time Henry Cecil inmate Bagan, who is now trained by Charlie Mann, has been in good form this term, is probably back to his ideal trip today and has been given a chance by the handicapper. The 11-year-old Mister McGoldrick is capable of taking a hand in the finish but Sue Smith's gelding may be a shade high in the weights now and of more interest may be Misty Dancer, who has been running well on the flat and now returns to chasing having been good value for his Ascot success when last seen in this sphere back in March. Plenty have chances but it is Edmo Yewkay that gets the vote.
