Another open handicap can go the way of recent winner Tancredi at the main expense of Jordan's Light and Charlie Bear. Jerry O'Dwyer gave the selection a good ride last time out after his gate opened slightly earlier than his opponents. He appreciated the drop in trip that day however today's extra furlong is well within his compass and he looks sure to mount another bold bid. A 6lb rise in the weights will make life trickier but he could be capable of going in again in what doesn't look the strongest of contests. Jordan's Light is consistent but the suspicion is that he may just be in the grip of the handicapper now so he is passed over, along with Legal Lover although he still looks place material. Peter Hiatt's Northern Desert is consistent if nothing else and can be opposed again so of more interest may be Zoe Davison's Charlie Bear. Today's quick ground will be ideal and he looks a major threat off this mark of 57 (won off it last July). At a price Todlea could go well off his lowly mark, but for the winner we will hesitantly return to recent winner Tancredi.
