In depth
Verdict
The consistent Starzaan looks set to score here ahead of The Bajan Bandit, Campaign Trail and the in-form Great As Gold. The selection should appreciate this step up in trip and has proved himself a capable performer on most surfaces. Added to the fact he has Tony McCoy in the saddle he looks one of the best bets of the day. The Bajan Bandit has proved himself a useful National Hunt animal over the seasons and it would be no surprise to see him run well on ground he will relish though whether he will be suited by this return to hurdles remains to be seen. Campaign Trail will be seeking a five-timer following four successive British victories. His latest win at Wetherby was most impressive and he may give the selection most to do. Great As Gold lost nothing in defeat last time out at Newcastle and has run some fine races this season. A guaranteed stayer he should run a big race but it is Starzaan who looks the most likely winner in a competitive field.
