Verdict

This may turn out to be an above-average bumper. Billy Boi Blue quickly asserted at Huntingdon on Boxing Day and the Flat-bred Gentleman Jacques represents last year’s winning trainer and jockey combination. Favour And Fortune, a half-brother to the prolific Dreal Deal, made a winning debut at Southwell but the form hasn’t been franked. Mr Barrowclough started favourite and won nicely at Doncaster but GUARD DUTY accounted for a subsequent winner at Southwell, with Alright Dai fourth, and his yard is in form and appears to have a few useful bumper horses this season.
