Verdict

FOREST PENNANT is preferred here to Sullumo, with Flight Leader interesting if taking up this engagement rather than one at Newbury. Paul Nicholls' son of Accordion was a good second to Mighty Man when last seen in December, form that has been franked by the winner since. He has to carry a penalty for an earlier Exeter win but he has the ability to make up into a nice chaser and the application of a tongue-tie may help him see out his race better. Sullumo is closely linked on a form line through Mighty Man. He was beaten a similar distance and there is unlikely to be much between them, especially if the ground deteriorates further. Dance Island makes his chase debut in a hot little race and may find things a bit tough, whilst Flight Leader comes here fresh after a two month break. He disappointed at Chepstow, but his earlier second to the selection means than on 6lb better terms today he has a chance. An open little race, but Forest Pennant edges it.
