In depth

Verdict

A market move for Jim Old's newcomer Norwich County would be of interest in this novices' hurdle, while Mark Brisbourne's Bangor winner Royal Attraction has to be respected but may struggle under his penalty so preference is for Corso Palladio. The selection showed decent form on the level on France and, while disappointing on his hurdling debut behind Blythe Knight earlier this month, there is nothing of his calibre in the line up today and Jonjo O'Neill's gelding may be capable of better than he showed that day so is worth another chance. Frank Jordan saddles two runners with Safin marginally preferred to Tarkesar of his duo although a bigger threat may come from the Richard Phillips-trained Mr Aitch, who looks to be going the right way over hurdles. Pam Sly's Noble Raider is another worthy of a mention but Corso Palladio may be better than he showed at Bangor and gets the vote to prove that here.
