Generous Day won this in 2019 and was third back over 2m at Ludlow last month but remains 8lb higher. Dustin Des Mottes was second at Fontwell in the autumn off this mark but this looks a tougher assignment. Amoola Gold just came up short at Ascot on his hat-trick bid but has been raised a further 5lb while Destrier faces a stiff task under top weight on his reappearance. SKY PIRATE bolted up dropped to 2m at Cheltenham, beating last week’s Sandown winner Ibleo without coming off the bridle - an 11lb rise looks fully justified though he is not an easy ride. Equus Millar has only gone up 5lb for his victory at Haydock so can’t be ruled out.
