In depth
Verdict
This looks an above average novice chase and Good Spirit gets a narrow vote ahead of Howle Hill and Nous Voila. The Paul Nicholls trained four-year-old was an impressive winner in decent event at Toulouse before coming to grief in a listed hurdle at Auteuil. He will have been well schooled by his talented handler and could be another good recruit to this sphere. Howle Hill, a decent hurdler, made a successful chase debut at Fontwell back in May. He should again go well but could struggle to our selection so much weight. Nous Voila has a similar hurdle rating to the last named and has always looked the type to do well at this game. The market will be a valuable guide here, but we do expect Good Spirit to attract the money and land first prize.
