Verdict

King Bee, Stavordale Lad and Datito are all on the short list Our narrow preference is for King Bee. Henry Daly's representative ran a solid reappearance effort at Wetherby over an inadequate trip and the form of that race has subsequently been advertised by the winner. Stavordale Lad is a tricky proposition from a punting perspective. When he completes, he looks as if there is a race in him but that completion record in itself is offputting. Datito heads here following Haydock's abandonment on Friday. A shock winner at Chepstow, he has few miles on the clock for an eleven-year-old. Midnight Gunner is a quirky sort although he does win his share. He was on a going day on his last visit to Warwick and really took a cut at his fences. He would be dangerous if in that mood today. Calcot Flyer is relatively unexposed but has been off the track since unseating his rider at Folkestone. King Bee should run well at a price and we will offer him up as our selection.
