Mr Barnacle has progressed with each of his three outings to date over hurdles and the form of his most recent outing has been franked when the third Mill Side, 5l behind on that occasion, has since landed a novice hurdle with some decent novices behind. Three miles and more is what he will eventually require on the evidence of his second last time so today's trip will play into his hands. The Wooden Spoon rated 110, has it all to do with Mr Barnacle, when ratings and form lines are taken into account. That said, he has the experience and should it develop into a stamina test, he will not be found wanting. Ajay was noticeably weak in the market last time at Sedgefield in a race won by his stable companion. He didn't jump with any deal of fluency in that contest and will need to step up considerably on that to trouble the previously mentioned pair. Mr Barnacle is likely to head the market and looks a cut above the rest based on that promising effort at Newcastle.
