Verdict
King's Bounty can step up on his recent return here to account for Shining Lights, Contract Scotland and Tyndarius. King's Bounty opened his account over fences here at Wetherby in March 2003, when a bold, front-running performance saw Tim Easterby's charge see off the challenge of Contract Scotland to the tune of five lengths. There were no excuses for the latter that day, and on today's terms he should once again come out second-best, although since that victory King's Bounty has failed to shine in the main. However, he was noted staying on strongly at the finish behind Gatorade here on what was his first outing since April, and the longer trip can be to his advantage. In contrast, Shining Lights will benefit from this less searching journey compared to that in the totesport Handicap Chase at Market Rasen where he finished very tired and made plenty of mistakes as well. Tyndarius was remounted to finish third at Doncaster last time but at the age of 14 is not getting any better, while fellow veteran Ardent Scout was pulled up at Hexham and is hard to fancy off topweight. King's Bounty is the selection.
