Verdict
The leading contenders have similar credentials in that they are all improvers and should continue to progress further. RON created quite a good impression when scoring at Doncaster last time for Mark Tompkins and is taken to go in again, although Woodacre looks a big threat after looking a likely sort for a similar event when runner-up at Market Rasen last time. Forty Crown did the job well enough at Sedgefield to be taken seriously too, whilst the market will help with regard to the newcomers, of whom Irish raider Cracking Man and Ian Williams' King's Theatre newcomer, Portway Flyer make most appeal on paper.
