In depth

Verdict

Swashbuckling didn't run as a two-year-old and only had three maiden outings last season but showed enough to suggest he could be well treated for his handicap debut. Rhythmical made a winning debut over this trip at Leicester in July and has been racing over further subsequently without success and though Corton Lad won over 1m4f at Wolverhampton in December he's better over this trip. The former Irish-trained ALCATRAZ made a winning start for George Baker at Chepstow a year ago but has only raced twice subsequently. He probably just needed his run at Windsor last month but showed enough to suggest a victory was imminent so gets the nod. Winterval, a winner over this trip at Nottingham last July, made a very promising return to action over a mile there earlier this month and looks a major threat.
