In depth
Verdict
Tom Fruit is improving with each outing and can land this modest opener from Cottam Grange and Sea Laughter. Tim Easterby's gelding had a tremendous duel with Narciso over a slightly shorter trip here last time and just gave best on the run in. The extra distance here is a slight concern, but the first two in that contest were well clear and so the form could be quite decent. Today's opposition is of a similar standard and he should be capable of going one better. Cottam Grange came to grief last time but his previous handicap form was of a decent standard and he should go close back in novice company. Sea Laughter found the ground too heavy at Carlisle last time but her previous second to Aberdare at Ayr was a fair effort and she should be vying some place money. Moustique de L'Isle can also be involved despite a winners penalty, but Tom Fruit is on the upgrade and is a confident choice
