Verdict

RETURN FIRE failed to complete his hat-trick after being raised 8lb for wins at Hexham and Newcastle. However, he was a fair fourth at Ayr and, nudged down 1lb for that effort, should deliver a solid account for his conditional pilot who steered him to both aforementioned successes. Court At Slip and Bring The Action bring winning course and distance form to the table and, preferred in that order, should give a good account again. Nevertheless, Good Work may emerge as the chief danger after two pleasing runner-up efforts for a yard that is enjoying a strong season. He is unproven at the trip though, so there is a question mark against the Network gelding. Robyndzone, who ran perfectly well after a massive 835-day break last time, should be all the better for the run and is shortlisted.
