      Verdict

SCHINKEN OTTO is a tentative selection to win this handicap chase; the main dangers appear to be Carryduff, Chigorin while Stoneriggs Merc is another that could be considered. Last seen on the all-weather at Lingfield, that should have Schinken Otto primed for today. Not surprisingly out-paced at Lingfield, he stayed on well in the closing stages. More promise can be derived from that outing than from his two previous efforts this season. The trip is the unknown as Malcolm Jefferson's charge has yet to win beyond the extended two mile trip but provided ground conditions do not ease, his ability to see out the trip is helped. Carryduff does not seem to have been unduly punished for his Towcester victory in May. He is a stout stayer and today's trip might just be on the sharp side. Chigorin is 7lb higher for a recent victory at this course. He was ridden more patiently there and that could well have worked the oracle. Canada Street is twice a course winner. He is another that might find this trip on the sharp side given the quick ground conditions. Schinken Otto is nominated to win it.
