Verdict
Not the hottest of juvenile contests and one that looks a good opportunity for Paul Nicholls-trained Sporazene. Third in much better company over course and distance to Newtown Dancer on Charlie Hall day, that form should comfortably be good enough to earn him first prize here, with improvement expected. The one to chase him home should be Mistanoora. The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained gelding is out of Mistinguett, who loves some cut, and the three-year-old put up a decent performance on soft at Sandown last time to be second to Nas Na Riogh. With similar conditions here he can give the selection most to do. Of the remainder, Turn Of Phrase makes his hurdling debut after joining Richard Fahey from Ireland, where he was rated 63 on the flat. That sort of form translated to hurdles would give him frame claims here. Others to consider are Super Dolphin, who has not looked the best on the flat, but who comes from a very shrewd yard and should improve for his first run, and Wensley Blue, who again does not look special on his flat form, but could be worth watching as far as the market is concerned.
