Verdict

A winner over hurdles in France, Enfin Phil was well beaten at Hexham on his debut for new connections and it remains to be seen if Imperial Acolyte fares any better under a penalty for winning on faster ground over track and trip last month. Dual bumper winner Betameche never figured on his hurdling bow and Classic Seniority, a sprinter on the Flat, faded badly at Catterick on his first start over timber. Defi Sacre has won over fences in France and has switched yards since while ECLAT DE STAR was purchased by J P McManus having won a bumper in the French provinces. The latter made a decent start over hurdles when runner-up at Sedgefield and may well improve enough to open his account.
