In depth
Verdict
Smiths Cross could be worth a second look in this having slipped to a potentially-lenient mark. He wears blinkers on his return to chasing having had a coupe of pipe-openers over hurdles. Some Reign finally got off the mark at Hexham and should run well again while Equus Millar made all to make a winning start over fences at Worcester in July of last year, though hasn’t raced since. Cracking Find ran well for a long way here earlier in the month and Ballyvic Boru hinted at a revival at Hereford but YCCS PORTOCERVO is better than he showed at Cartmel last time and, only five, has more scope than most of these.
