In depth

Verdict

Caislean Na Deirge gets the vote in the opener with Kinkeel and Lorrelini the others to consider. The selection was unlucky to come up against the revitalised Kova Hall at Towcester last time and if he can reproduce that effort here today then it should be good enough to see him get his head in front. Kinkeel is the obvious threat to the selection but he has had plenty of chances now and although he again has solid place prospects, the reality is he has failed to win in 33 attempts and he looks vulnerable again today. Lorrelini was disappointing last time at Towcester and he looks best with a bit of cut in the ground so is opposable on that basis. Sturbury may prove best of the remainder, but Caislean Na Deirge hails from a yard that are really firing at present and he gets the confident vote.
