In depth

Verdict

A case can certainly made here for Vic Venturi under Sam Waley-Cohen as he's been in action between the flags. Coombe Hill, Officier De Reserve and MOBAASHER should also lack nothing in fitness, however, and we'll take the latter to come out on top as it shouldn't be forgotten that he once outbattled smart stayer Giles Cross over this trip under Rules when the ground was very soft. Partner Lucy Gardner will give him every encouragement from the saddle. The market should prove the best guide to the chances of Nicto De Beauchene, Gentle George and Martys Mission who have all been absent for lengthy periods.
