Verdict
As ever in this sort of contest the market can be a more than useful guide, but tentatively we'll suggest it can go the way of PICTORIAL, but we'd also include Maria Nunziata and Shakalaka on our shortlist. Sir Michael Stoute's only runner on the card is having his second run, and should improve from his debut last month at Newbury. The firmer ground he'll find tonight could help this expensive purchase. Maria Nunziata steps up in trip after being placed on debut over a mile at Goodwood last month. That was a pleasing introduction; she's been given an entry in the Ribblesdale, and may not need to improve too much to land a contest at this level. Shakalaka is the most experienced and the only one to have an official mark. His four runs to date have all been in Ireland, and he's now making his debut for Gary Moore. Clive Cox has been banging out the winners recently, and Catchmeifyoucan will aim to live up to his name. If he doesn't win on debut tonight, he'll try again at Sandown on Thursday. He could be absolutely anything, but given the yard's recent string of winners, any support should be noted. We'll side with experience though, and Pictorial.
