Verdict

Stir Crazy can bounce back to form over the likes of See In The Dark, Auction Time and Diminuto to name but three. Stir Crazy looked a progressive sort when scoring on the Lingfield Polytrack in April, but was then subsequently well down the field behind Gilded at Newmarket later that month and has been absent since. In the light of the latter's Queen Mary success, that latest effort was not so bad, and Mick Channon's charge has been working well enough on the gallops this week to suggest that he can bounce back here before being aimed at some big sales races in the autumn. With a high draw in stall 13, and fast ground to help, he should go close. Topweights is nurseries do well in the early weeks of the juvenile handicap campaign, so the chance of See In The Dark has to be respected. He was outclassed behind Elhamrin in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot, but has plenty of placed form to his name. Auction Time has a low weight, and his run at Thirsk is best forgotten as he was hampered by a loose horse. He can go well in a bid to get the losses back, while Diminuto needs to improve based on his selling efforts, but has a light weight and good draw. Stir Crazy is the pick.
