Verdict

MILD ILLUSION made a very encouraging debut at Newbury on ground with some give but couldn't get to the favourite Mitty's Smile on her next start here after being held up in the rear. She should make amends though fourth-placed Queen Salamah, who was a couple of lengths behind in that latter race on her debut, is entitled to improve and get closer. Epsom Faithfull couldn't go the pace over the minimum at Lingfield but stayed on steadily while Chisana, a half-sister to two Group winners, looks best of the newcomers.
