In depth
Verdict
Sir Mark Prescott had his first juvenile winner of the season on Saturday night and so his two runners here City Chancer and Wicked Daze have to be respected, however we will stick with the experience and plump for Assertive, with Cool Sting also expected to put in a good show. Richard Hannon's colt shaped well on his Kempton debut when second to a nice type. He didn't travel too well next time but still managed to finish fourth in a decent looking event at Salisbury. If he can settle better this evening he will be hard to beat. Cool Sting chased home Danish Express in a similar race to this at Bath. He looked in need of the run and should benefit from that experience. Wicked Daze, a son of Generous, looks the pick of the Prescott pair judging by the jockey bookings and this one, along with the Michael Jarvis trained Charles Street Lad should be monitored in the betting. It is a race where the market could prove invaluable, but Assertive looks to be the form horse and gets our vote.
