In depth

Verdict

Vague, Cheap N Chic and Nihal look to be the leading players in this wide open maiden to open the card and the vote is given to Vague. The selection, a half-sister to two multiple winners on turf in the US, showed plenty of promise on her debut when fifth behind Hanoona at Newmarket. She is sure to come on for that run and she sets a fair standard for the rest here. Cheap N Chic rates as a live danger as she improved for her debut effort when a good second behind Duelling last time at Lingfield. She looked like a winner waiting to happen that day and she should go close here, even though the draw could have been kinder to her. Nihal is a well-related filly who hails from the Mark Johnston yard and she will be of definite interest on her racecourse debut if the market speaks in her favour. Korolieva has shown promise on both her outings to date so she is another that could go well, but for the winner we return to Jeremy Noseda's filly Vague.
