Verdict

Another open event could go the way of Lord of The East, with Louisiade and Effective the pair likely to give him the most to do. The selection lost no caste in defeat when second behind Tiber Tiger at Redcar last time. He did finish clear of the rest that day and if he can run up to his best then he should take plenty of beating today. Louisiade rates the main danger as he has been in good form of late. However, his two recent wins have come over 7f and over this slightly shorter trip we are happy to take him on. Effective was disappointing at Lingfield last time when third behind Border Edge, but the booking of Jamie Spencer is a positive signal that he could go well. The Bonus King would have claims on the pick of his form but he has plenty to prove at present and for the winner we return to Lord of The East.
