Verdict

A case can be made for most but DESTINY'S SPIRIT was very much on the upgrade last autumn and was only beaten just over a couple of lengths on her seasonal reappearance after 190 days off. She should be cherry-ripe now and has also been nudged down 1lb by the assessor. A sixth furlong is a question mark but she does appeal at the weights. Confederation ties in closely with Hiatus on their all-weather running during the winter and the pair are preferred in that order as the former's form on grass is superior. Alpine Girl only showed flashes of ability in her juvenile campaign but looks the sort to improve at three. She starts off this season off a workable mark and the Fanshawe yard is in fine heart at present.
