In depth
Verdict
Despite being seven pounds higher than for her Bath success, Clarisse can get back to winning ways at the expense of Most-Saucy and Barking Mad, although don't be surprised if Desert Island Disc gets into the shake-up. The selection has been beaten since that win but that was over a longer trip than tonight and, being a course and distance winner, the drop back to ten furlongs looks set to suit. Upped in trip over today's course and distance, Barking Mad ran his best race for some time last time and, from the same mark, is entitled to go well again, while Most-Saucy, running here with a penalty following her course win over just short of 12 furlongs a week ago, comes here in good heart. Adjawar showed his best form for a while over two furlongs further here last time following the application of cheekpieces. However, he is still 13lbs higher than for his last win. Silver Prophet has failed to win since Goodwood last June and may prefer to get easier going. Squeaky is now only one pound higher than for her Yarmouth win so will have her supporters too, while Desert Island Disc suggested that there could be better to come at Sandown last time.
