          Verdict

          In what is a very open affair Hawridge King is given a narrow vote ahead of Flag Point and Melvino. A few disappointing types here but Hawridge King has solid form credentials after running consistently all season. He recently finished a close up third behind the 74 rated Top Spec in a claimer, a repeat of that effort should be good enough here. Flag Point is steadily coming to hand and will only have to show modest improvement to get involved in the finish here. Meanwhile recent Brighton winner Melvino came up against a couple of progressive rivals last time and will be more at home in this company. Best of the rest could be Walter Swinburn's Tybalt, but if any of these deserve a victory it is Hawridge King.
