Verdict

We'll take a chance on IF I WERE A BOY in the last, although there are strong cases to be made for the likes of Sunley Spinalonga, Onyx Of Arabia and Spice Fair. Ryan Moore's booking aboard our selection catches the eye, as does the reapplication of the cheek-pieces that have previously served him well. Their absence may help to explain a below-par display last time and that coupled with a drop in both grade and weight means she makes plenty of appeal. Sunley Spinalonga is unexposed on turf and ran well here last time from a wide draw. From this better pitch and off the same mark she's got to have claims of going a couple of places better. Onyx Of Arabia struggled last time but had previously won over course and distance, so while he's 7lbs higher there could be more to come now returned here with Fallon taking over in the plate. On Her Way has the ability to win races off this mark but has her own ideas about the game and needs to settle better than she did last time so a bigger threat may be Spice Fair, who is 5lbs higher than when second last time but the winner of that contest has gone in again since and looks progressive. Jubail is of interest now stepped up in trip for his handicap debut but may want an even greater test of stamina while Tamtara may be held by the handicapper for now. This isn't a race to be getting out of jail with but If I Were A Boy looks an interesting runner and gets our each-way vote.
