Verdict
A modest list of acceptors after a healthy five-day interest can be led home by Best Before, who is selected over Espada and Phred, who are expected to put up the most resistance. However, Every Note Counts does have claims at the weights and is one to closely monitor in the betting. That said, his recent form is below the standard posted by the selection and he will have to work hard to get involved tonight. Therefore, this looks to be a fairly straightforward task for Best Before if he repeats his solid effort in finishing second over course and distance when he last raced here in April. The son of Mujadil will have to be on his guard to hold off the challenge represented by Espada on these revised terms. But, as his Jamie Osborne-trained rival has been struggling to get home over this trip this season, Best Before does look the more reliable option to kick-start the meeting with a winner.
