Verdict

No surprise if the field is reduced here to make life harder for each-way punters but Minstrel Lad is as good a starting point as any having found some improved form in late spring and early summer. He returns from a short break now and makes plenty of appeal but does find himself on a career-high mark after that improvement and RAAMZ makes fractionally more appeal. He seems a far better horse on Turf for Kevin Morgan and stuck on well to score at Hamilton last time under Cam Hardie who takes the ride once again. He should remain more than competitive off a mark of 62. Gallant veteran Megalala seems to prefer the seaside air of Brighton these days so Bertie Moon, a recent course and distance winner, and Chapter And Verse make greater shortlist appeal. The latter is especially interesting, dropped into Class 6 company for the first time in his career and punters should take note if there is cash around for him.
