Verdict
Andok, twice a winner over this trip in August, was outclassed in a better race at York before a poor run over hurdles. Cuban Heel was narrowly beaten three times including here and on soft ground before disappointing at Kempton though may not have taken to the surface. Hidden Depths also ran poorly on the latter track having shown potential earlier so this can go to ACE VENTURA. Roger Varian's charge landed a heavy ground novices' event at Salisbury a year ago and has only had two runs this season, turning in a staying-on effort over an extended mile in a better race than this at Epsom last month. Turnpike Trip completed a double on good to soft ground last summer and ran well for a long way over 1m4f at Newmarket last time so looks a threat.
