Verdict

Christopher Wood had been running well all summer so deserved his victory over the course and distance a fortnight ago. A 4lb rise isn't excessive and another bold bid is expected. Central City was claimed after scoring at Wolverhampton and gave new connections an immediate dividend at Doncaster. He may not have been suited by Epsom when well supported last time and looks a threat to all. Allante won a handicap at Wolverhampton but didn't perform as well on a return visit so this can go to CROWNTHORPE (NAP). Richard Fahey's charge makes a quick reappearance in this lower grade handicap after just failing to hold on in very testing conditions at Haydock on Friday and runs from the same mark. Crafty Madam generally performs well at this level and the handicapper is slowly loosening his grip.
