There are many unknown and lightly-raced quantities in this contest, including Corky, Cyfryws, Zazous, Ridge Boy and King's Caprice, but we will take a chance on Stargem. The form of the selection's second to Valjarv on his second start last season stands out here, with the third having won since, the fourth, Kind, having won three times this season, and the seventh having finished second at Royal Ascot this season. If she is fit for her seasonal return, and the betting should give a guide in this respect, she should go well. Brown Dragon's form equates to around the mid-60s on Wolverhampton's all-weather. Corky is a likely type on breeding and showed a good deal of promise on his Newbury debut so bear him in mind. Highland Lass has possibilities on breeding, while Cyfrwys's course and distance form from last season brings her into the picture. Zazous also looks interesting based on his Salisbury third to Matt Blanc last year, while the market should provide clues as to the merits of Richard Hannon's other runner, the nicely-bred Ridge Boy. King's Caprice, from a family that his trainer knows well, has also shown more than enough to win a race of this nature. An interesting race, then, to start the card and one in which we will opt for Stargem.
