        Verdict

        A very good - and interesting - line-up for this Listed Race and possible winners include Gateman, Vanderlin, Beauchamp Pilot and Binary Vision, but we will side, albeit narrowly, with Vanderlin. Working on formlines with Kalaman, Vanderlin just shades the argument with Gateman, and the pair are also very closely weighted based on their Diomed Stakes runs at Epsom last time. There should not be too much between them again and they can go well. Beauchamp Pilot was also only a length behind the pair at Epsom and, with his stable now among the winners again, can also be considered. Babadona has around four lengths to find with Gateman based on Sandown April form, but is two-pounds better off, while Shot To Fame is on the up, having won his last two races, but has a good few pounds still to find on official ratings, as does Excelsius. The beautifully-bred Sir Michael Stoute runner, Always First, and John Gosden's half-brother to Binary File, Binary Vision, each showed a good deal of promise when winning on their sole starts to date and are likeable types, but this represents a hike in class for them. As we have indicated, it;it's a tight affair but, with his stable on fire at present, Andrew Balding's Vanderlin gets the vote.
