        Verdict

        The last three favourites have won - two of them three-year-olds. Paint The Star followed her maiden victory with an all-the-way success over three rivals in a classified stakes at Pontefract though faces softer ground for the first time. Quite A Story battled back after being headed to land a maiden here last month and isn't harshly treated for her handicap bow but it's another of the younger generation, MEHRONISSA (NAP), who gets the vote. She's been very highly-tried since her opening victory at Newmarket in August and takes a drop in class after her close fifth in a better race than this back at HQ a couple of weeks ago. Sarangoo, though suited by some give in the ground, is probably better over another furlong while Lead A Merry Dance has won two Class 5 handicaps and has been beaten three times from this mark and Barbs Princess has also never won a handicap at this level.
