In depth

Verdict

Bonnie Prince Blue, Scarlet Knight and Memphis Man look the three to concentrate on in this trappy race to open the card and the vote is given to Bonnie Prince Blue. The selection made a really pleasing debut at Newbury when beating Loyal Royal. He gave the impression that day that he would come on plenty for the experience and with a proven ability to handle this ground he should take plenty of beating. Scarlet Knight would be a real threat to our selection if this was over the minimum trip, but he didn't looks as effective over this extra furlong last time and for that reason we will take him on. Memphis Man is from a yard that have enjoyed tremendous success this season with their 2-year-old's and he is eased in grade after being outclassed at Sandown last time. He had looked progressive prior to that effort so is not one to dismiss lightly and if he sees out this extra furlong then he could go close. Polliwilline is an interesting newcomer from the Richard Hannon yard but this filly will have to be quite useful to make a winning debut in this company and we will stick with Bonnie Prince Blue who looks the one to beat.
