Verdict

The closing contest doesn't appear strong and perhaps SUNLEY SPINALONGA can get off the park, possibly at the chief expense of French Art and the fascinating Miss Bounty. David Elsworth's charge hasn't yet got off the mark despite finishing placed on three of her five starts, but ran well when fifth on her handicap debut last time. That was at Kempton and indeed this will be her first try on turf, but she's bred to act on grass and this represents a drop in class, so with plenty of these in the grip of the handicapper we'll take a chance on her. French Art is one such horse who looks a few pounds high in the weights but Nigel Tinkler's charge tends to run his race and this is easier than the course and distance handicap he ran in last time. Interestingly Eddie Ahern has ridden the horse once and it was to a second placed finish here. Miss Bounty is the dark horse of the race, having her first start since joining George Baker from Germany. When last seen in November she placed in a handicap at Dresden despite the ground being softer than ideal and a mark of 64 may prove generous, but perhaps she'll need this run and unless support arrives it may pay to oppose her. Jasmeno showed very little promise on her handicap debut and the 4lb drop may not change matters, so perhaps Kyleene will be best of the rest. She's unexposed at this trip and now 3lbs below her sole success to date, so whilst that came on the Polytrack it'd be no great surprise were she to go close. Bramshill Lady showed much more upped to this trip last time and remains open to progress having had just six starts but we'll side with Sunley Spinalonga, albeit with limited confidence.
