Verdict
An interesting maiden in which Convince can open his account over Orcadian, Primo Way and Douglas. The latter is one of Richard Hannon's three runners and in the colours of Jim Horgan, may shape well enough to reach the frame ahead of stablemates Mister Saif and Rinneen. However, Convince ran a race full of promise on his Newmarket debut where he shaped more like a sprinter when third to Fokine. He did though come with a threatening effort two furlongs out and will have learnt from that initial experience. So too will Orcadian who delayed the start on his debut here three weeks ago but still managed to take a hand in proceedings, finishing third to Go Bananas. A half-brother to Group winner Rapscallion, he will pay to follow next year. Primo Way comes from the in-form Barry Hills yard and it is interesting that he is stepped up in trip after a promising fourth over the minimum trip on his introduction here a fortnight ago. His pedigree is all speed and he may eventually be put back over five furlongs if this move does not pay off. Jeremy Noseda's juveniles are on fire at present so the newcomer Pulverize, a half-brother to Group class March Star, should be noted in the market. However, with a run under his belt, Convince is the tentative selection.
