      Verdict

      Brazilian Art has not been harshly treated for his handicap debut here and despite taking four runs to break his maiden tag, he looks a horse of some promise. He was forced to race alone at Folkestone last time, away from his main rival who raced up the stands side. That rival Zebrano has since been beaten once again but has shown a solid level of form in maidens. By Captain Rio, most of his running has been on easy surfaces and today's lively surface is the unknown. Hurakan showed real battling qualities to land a Lingfield maiden last time. Although a blanket would have covered the first three home, the second showed lots of promise in a Newmarket maiden which has worked out well. Lady Rusty takes a considerable step up in trip here from six furlongs and her ability to handle ground conditions are doubtful given her sire and her clear effectiveness on bottomless ground at Goodwood last time. Richard Hannon's duo Hambledon Hill and Sequillo showed some promise in decent maidens during the summer and they can be expected to improve now in handicap company. A small field for this nursery but Brazilian Art is selected to win it.
