In depth

Verdict

Few boast solid recent form in an ordinary closer and the tentative vote goes to Irie Rasta ahead of High Hope, Fool On The Hill, and Orthodox. Sylvester Kirk's charge has proved a consistent performer this season and put up a particularly good effort when third in a competitive handicap at Nottingham late last month. The four-year-old possibly found the mile-and-three-quarter trip stretching his stamina having led two out and the drop back to this trip should suit ideally. High Hope has been in good heart on the all-weather and has claims if translating the form back to turf while Fool On The Hill will be sharper for his recent reappearance and rates a threat. Orthodox was progressive on the all-weather during the winter but does not appear as effective back on turf and looks high enough in the handicap at present.
