Verdict

Welcome Approach has dropped to an attractive mark again but with the John Jenkins yard going well enough we will just favour DAVIDS MARK in what is not a hot handicap. The selection was in form at the beginning of the year when scoring at Lingfield and going close at Kempton, but he has been out of sorts since then. This trip is ideal, he has run well here in defeat in the past, and now just 1lb above his last win he appeals with the yard going better than when he last ran. Welcome Approach has a couple of course and distance wins on his CV, one of them from a mark 3lbs higher than today's, and on that basis he has to be taken seriously, although the stable is not exactly flying at present. Scruffy Skip is another who looks to be on a handy mark judged on his Great Leighs win over this trip last year, though his recent form suggests that those are not stats to get too carried away with. Battimoore has twice been runner-up over this trip, at Ayr and Fairyhouse, and his turf preferences suggest that this surface might suit, so he is not ruled out from a good draw. Malalpropism is very hard to catch right, while All You Need looks to the in the grip of the handicapper, and Davids Mark can make this a winning mark.
