        Verdict

        Malaysian Boleh has won nine times on the all-weather. He has been below his best the last twice on Turf but a return to this surface could bring about a revival. Maldonado returned from a break with a fine run at Lingfield. He should be thereabouts in a race like this, though has a poor strike-rate. Splash Of Verve is one of several course and distance winners in this and should benefit from having Alex Ferguson in the saddle. David Thompson’s gelding makes more appeal than top weight Edge. CELTIC ARTISAN hasn’t been disgraced on Turf recently and has been dropped a further 2lb meaning he is now 9lb lower than when only beaten half-a-length over this trip at Newcastle at the start of the year. The talented Ella McCain takes off another 3lb so her mount may be the one to beat.
