    Verdict

It is hard to weight up the claims of Ballinteni after just the one start and such a long absence so Godolphin's colt may, along with the reappearing Alpine Reel, be best watched and preference is for Country Escape. Chris Wall's filly has gone up 9lbs for her narrow success at Warwick last time but she remains unexposed, handles the all-weather and could improve again to follow up here. Bomber Command is becoming frustrating, while Merrymadcap is fully exposed now. The Barry Hills-trained Uno looks a shade high in the weights at present, while Apres Ski has taken another hike in the weights and preference is for the progressive Country Escape.
