Verdict
This is a dreadful race which should not take a great deal of winning, with Lion¿s Domaine and Larky¿s Lob taken to fight out the finish, and the vote goes to the latter. This gelding from the Paul Johnson yard ran really well over this course and distance on Boxing Day when just getting caught close home by St Ivian. He had previously been running over further and the drop in trip clearly suited, and if he can reproduce that effort here he will be hard to beat. Lion¿s Domaine could give him the most to do as this 7-year-old gelding has plenty of winning form on the turf, and he has had a number of fair efforts on this track. But his best form has come over 7 furlongs and he may not be suited by the drop in trip. Of the rest, Vlasta Weiner ran a fair race at Yarmouth last time when sixth behind Ziet D¿Alscace, but he is returning from a break here and is making his all-weather debut, so is readily opposed. Italian Mist is another to have shown a fair level of form on the turf so he is also worthy of consideration, but in a poor race, Larky¿s Lob gets the confident vote.
