In depth

Verdict

Vesuvio gets the confident vote in this maiden with Cool Box and Grande Chairman rating the main dangers. The selection was a fair third on his debut behind Vitzanu despite running green; he is sure to have come on for the run and given nominal improvement he will be hard to beat. Cool Box rates the main danger on his latest fifth behind Thunder Storm Cat but the suspicion is he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip in time. Grande Chaiman is a colt by Grand Lodge and hails from a yard that can ready a newcommer so he should be noted in the market. Of the remainder, Flying Goose is another well bred type but his stable are not known for first time out winners and with this in mind for the winner we return to Vesuvio.
