Umoja has had an unsuccessful spell in Ireland, including over this trip, since showing promise for Chris Wall and is probably best watched in a race taken to go to former stablemate Samaria, who is preferred to Colleton River. The last mentioned is a son of Croco Rouge trained by Willie Haggas and looks the pick of the newcomers, the only other one being Heather Dalton's Lake Imperial. Colleton River is bred to be useful and would not need to be out of the ordinary to take a poor contest so the market may prove to be a decent guide as to his chances. The ex-Irish Flaming Eyes has her first start since joining Walter Swinburn but has yet to prove her effectiveness over today's trip and a bigger threat may come from Bryn Palling's Principessa, who was well held in a handicap at Lingfield when last seen but is tried at a more realistic level now. Mac's Elan has form in lesser races but the one they have to beat is Samaria. Chris Wall's filly lost no caste in defeat in a similar race at Lingfield last time and is proven over trip.
